Hackensack is home to the two largest employers in Bergen County including the world-renowned Hackensack Meridian Health - Hackensack University Medical Center and the Bergen County Judiciary and Administration Offices. With the partnership between Georgetown University and the Hackensack University Medical Center, there are now four colleges/universities located in and adjacent to downtown, including Fairleigh Dickinson University, Bergen Community College, Eastwick University and Georgetown University.
The city is conveniently situated along Routes 4, 17 and 80, just north of Route 46, with easy access to the NJ Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway. The Hackensack Bus Terminal is a short 2 block walk from the site. The terminal is a regional transfer station - Passaic, Essex, Hudson Counties as well as the Mid-Town Port Authority Bus Terminal and the George Washington Bridge Bus Stations in New York City.
Approximately 4 blocks away is the Essex Street Train Station which is served by the NJ Transit Passaic Valley Line, running from Spring Valley, NY through Secaucus Junction Train Station to Hoboken and on to Mid-Town Manhattan. On bus or train, one can travel to or from virtually anywhere in the world from this convenient location.
